Found Faithful

“What doest thou here, Elijah?... I only am left; and they seek my life, to take it away… Yet I have left Me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him” (1 Kings 19:9-18).  “A faithful man who can find?” (Proverbs 20:6).  “Neglect not the gift that is in thee… Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee” (1 Timothy 4:14,16).

Elijah thought he was alone,
And all faithful had been slain,
But God at that time made it known
That seven thousand yet remain.

The Lord had counted all the knees
Which had not bowed to Baal then.
Be sure of this:  our Lord still sees
His faithful servants among men.

The Lord can find a faithful man;
God knows where each has been assigned,
And He will show His perfect plan
To each of those that He shall find.

In view of this, we should take heed
To not neglect the gift God gave
To serve the Lord in word and deed,
To draw the souls that He would save.

O Lord our God, may there be found
The faithfulness in us You seek,
As by Your grace we thus abound
With strength extended to the weak.
