Memories of Mercies

“Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.  When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O LORD, held me up.  In the multitude of my thoughts within me Thy comforts delight my soul” (Psalm 94:17-19).

How many are those memories
When mercy held us up,
When lovingkindness calmed our seas,
And blessings filled our cup!

It didn’t always look that way
When mercies were disguised,
But trials prompted us to pray,
And grace was realized.

O Lord, we thank You for Your grace
Which comforts us through life
With mercies we delight to trace
In peace as well as strife.
