"They pierced My hands and My feet.... All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the Lord.... They shall come, and shall declare His righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that He hath done this" (Psalm 22:16,27,31).
We ought to take a closer look
And ponder more Psalm twenty-two.
For here in God's prophetic Book
We see the cross from heaven's view.
"He hath done this," they shall say,
When He comes again to reign.
They shall worship in that day,
Remembering His cross and pain.
This great prophetic Psalm foresaw
One thousand years before He came,
Our Savior satisfy the Law,
When on the cross he took our shame.
This Psalm foretold our Savior's cross,
His resurrection, and return.
What love is this that suffered loss,
That we might gain what He would earn?
When He comes again to earth
We'll all remember what He did,
And through eternity the worth
Of His cross shall not be hid!
