Negligent Nine

"Ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off... lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. And when He saw them, He said unto them, Go show yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, as they went, they were cleansed. And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God... And Jesus answering said, Were not ten cleansed? But where are the nine?" (Luke 17:12-17).

Cleansed in spirit, soul, and mind!
Lord, I would not neglect to say,
Thank you for Your love so kind:
You have healed me today.

Like those pleading, leprous men,
You heard their voice as well as mine.
Yet one returned among the ten
To give You thanks, unlike those nine.

Thank you, Lord, for all You've done.
Lord, though the nine be negligent
To add their voices with this one,
I'll praise You for Your healing sent.
