Give Thanks for Good Things

"Good things found in thee, in that thou… prepared thine heart to seek God" (2 Chronicles 19:3).  "O give thanks unto the LORD… Who remembered us in our low estate… and hath redeemed us" (Psalm 136:1,23,24).  "Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom" (Proverbs 18:1).  "We know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know Him that is true…  This is the true God, and eternal life" (1 John 5:20).

How good are the things that God gives

To those who are seeking His face!  

Give thanks that  our Lord ever lives

To save us and keep us by grace!

Give thanks to the Lord who redeemed

Our souls with a ransom so great!  

How hopeless for us it had seemed,

Undone our helpless estate! 

He drew us with heart preparation

To part from our sinful behavior

In order to find His salvation

Through Jesus our wonderful Savior. 

O Lord, we give thanks for good things

With mercies each day that are new 

Which flow like a fountain that springs

With life everlasting from You!
