Wiser Kin of Wicked Korah

"The company of Korah… strove against the LORD:  and the earth… swallowed them up… Notwithstanding the children of Korah died not" (Numbers 26:9-11).  [Title] A Song or Psalm for the sons of Korah… "O LORD God of my salvation… lover and friend hast Thou put far from me" (Psalm 88:1,18).  "A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished" (Proverbs 22:3).  "I heard a great voice… Pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth" (Revelation 16:1).

The company of Korah died

Who chose to strive against the Lord,

But Korah's children turned aside

Before God's wrath was then outpoured.

The kin of Korah made a choice

To hide themselves from condemnation,

Responding to Jehovah's voice

To flee from wrath and find salvation. 

A prudent man foresees God's wrath

And parts from lover and from friend

Who choose instead destruction's path

And thus are punished in the end. 

In view, Lord, of these wiser kin

Who fled from wicked Korah's place,

We plead with souls to flee from sin

And find their refuge in Your grace.
