Patriots' Prayer

"The people came… and said, We have sinned… against the LORD" (Numbers 21:7).  "Let Thy hand be upon the man of Thy right hand, upon the son of man whom Thou madest strong for Thyself… Turn us again, O LORD God of hosts, cause Thy face to shine; and we shall be saved" (Psalm 80:17-19).  "Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people" (Proverbs 14:34).  "The prayers of the saints ascended up before God" (Revelation 8:4). 

There is a place we should begin 

A prayer that patriots should pray:  

Let us confess our nation's sin

Against the Lord to our dismay. 

May God convict us of our wrong

To turn our hearts to Him again,

And let the leader He makes strong

Arise among the sons of men. 

When righteousness exalts a nation 

And sin's reproach is thus abhorred,

There is a beacon of salvation

That shines with blessing from the Lord. 

As incense, Lord, before Your throne, 

Let prayers of patriots now ascend,

So Your dominion may be known

With saving health that You extend.
