"Now Joshua was old and stricken in years; and the LORD said unto him… There remaineth yet very much land to be possessed" (Joshua 13:1). "The Spirit of the Lord… hath anointed Me to preach the Gospel to the poor… to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord… I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent" (Luke 4:18,19,43).
When Joshua was
very old,
The time had not
yet come to rest,
For by the Lord he
then was told
That much remained
to be possessed.
Thus may our
vision be enlarged
To reach remaining
souls today,
Fulfilling all
that God has charged,
And doing so
without delay.
Our Savior's ministry
increased
To heal broken
hearts He'd find,
To free the captives
He released,
And to give
sight to those once blind.
Lord, teach us
also to be gaining
Much fruit wherever
we are sent,
As we are
reaching those remaining
Who yet will
hear You and repent.
