"Aaron... blessed the people: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto all the people" (Leviticus 9:23). "By this I know that Thou favorest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me" (Psalm 41:11). "We see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death... that through death He might destroy... the devil... that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people" (Hebrew 2:9-17).
The
glory of the Lord appeared
To
all the people Aaron blessed.
This
was the glory Satan feared
Which
our High Priest would manifest.
By
this we know we have God's favor,
Because
our enemy has failed
To
triumph over Christ our Savior,
Our
great High Priest who has prevailed!
Beholding
Jesus, we can see
The
glory He foresaw ahead.
Through
death He won the victory
And
thereby crushed the serpent's head.
O
Lord, our Hero and High Priest,
Our
hearts are rightly overjoyed
As
captives whom You have released
Because
the devil is destroyed.
