"Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars: she hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table. She hath sent forth her maidens... A foolish woman... sitteth at the door of her house " (Proverbs 9:1-14). "Ye ought to be teachers... and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat... a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that... have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil" (Hebrews 5:12-14).
We see a portrait that is fitting
Of Wisdom building more and more,
As foolishness is simply sitting
When souls are passing by her door.
We do not have an expectation
For babies to build anything.
It's not until their maturation
That they have strength for laboring.
Perhaps it's time we realized
The lack of our maturity
Results when we're not exercised
In building for eternity.
O Lord, may we no longer choose
To live like babies who won't grow
Or builders who decline to use
The truth of Scripture that we know!
