Willing and Wise

“Thy people shall be willing in the day of Thy power” (Psalm 110:3).  “He that winneth souls is wise” (Proverbs 11:30).  “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; looking for that blessed hope and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ; who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works” (Titus 2:11-14).

The day of power has arrived:
It is the day in which we live!
The time is now to be revived
And seek the strength that God will give!

The Holy Spirit now is filling
The servants of our God today
Who come in weakness, yet are willing
To hear His voice and to obey.

We have no power of our own
For winning souls who trust in Christ;
That power comes from Him alone
Who for our sakes was sacrificed.

The grace of God that brings salvation
Has now appeared to everyone
To take away our condemnation
Because His work that saves is done.

Our Savior rose up from the dead
And demonstrated thus His power.
He’ll come again, as He has said,
And we are looking for that hour.

Until that day Christ  is equipping
His people with the grace they need
As with Him we are fellowshipping,
Obeying Him in word and deed.

Lord, make us willing, strong, and wise
In all that we are called to do,
And thereby pleasing in Your eyes,
That souls may thus be won for You.
