"Thy righteousness is like the great mountains.... How excellent is Thy lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Thy wings.... For with Thee is the fountain of life: in Thy light we see light" (Psalm 36:6-9). "But after that the kindness and love of God toward man appeared... according to His mercy, He saved us" (Titus 3:4,5).
How excellent, O God, we find
The vistas of Your love!
Your mercy's vastness is so kind
From heaven's throne above!
We see Your love, Lord, like a fountain
That springs forevermore
And in Your righteousness a mountain
That lifts us to adore.
Thank You for each illustration,
In which we take delight!
Your kindness manifests salvation;
Your light, Lord, gives us sight.
We cannot fully comprehend
The mercy that sufficed
To cause You, Father God, to send
Our Savior Jesus Christ!
Yet this we know, O King of kings:
We trust You and are blest
Beneath the shadow of Your wings
Where we can safely rest.
