Taught to Talk

Read:  Psalm 59 / Proverbs 10 / Deut. 8 / Hebrews 4

Psalm 59:17 Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing: for God is my defense, and the God of my mercy.

Proverbs 10:21 The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.

Deuteronomy 8:3 And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger… that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.

Hebrews 4:12 The word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword… even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

The Lord has taught us how to talk

That we may speak with confidence.

Though in these last days scorners mock,

The Lord Himself is our Defense.

The truth proceeding from the LORD

Is heaven’s bread to those we feed.

His Word is also heaven’s sword

To triumph where the LORD will lead.
