Bearers of His Banner

"As for God, His way is perfect; the Word of the LORD is tried: He is a Buckler to all them that trust in Him" (2 Samuel 22:31).  "Thou hast given a banner to them that fear Thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth" (Psalm 60:4).  "He that speaketh truth showeth forth righteousness… The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment" (Proverbs 12:17,19).  "Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God" (1 Corinthians 4:1). 

We hold the banner of God's Word

As stewards of a priceless treasure.

His promises have all endured

As tried and true by every measure. 

The Lord has now commissioned us

As stewards of the Word He gave.  

His banner is victorious,

Announcing Christ alone can save!

As we declare God's righteousness,

We lift the banner of our Savior

Who died for us that He might bless

The sinner by His saving favor. 

As bearers of Your banner, Lord,

And messengers of Your salvation,

We show the Gospel's great reward

For all who heed Your invitation.
