Divinely Done

"They give every man a ransom for his soul unto the LORD... The poor shall not give less" (Exodus 30:12-15).  "They pierced My hands and My feet... They shall... declare His righteousness... that He hath done this" (Psalm 22:16,31).  "By mercy and truth iniquity is purged" (Proverbs 16:6).  "For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him" (1 Thessalonians 5:9,10).

The ransom for our souls so poor
Has been provided by our Savior.
The price was infinitely more
Than we could pay without His favor.

The ransom that the law demands
Was paid in full by Jesus Christ.
They pierced our Savior's feet and hands
When He for us was sacrificed.

His mercy and His truth prevailed
To rescue us from coming wrath.
His love for sinners never failed
To lead Him on His righteous path.

O Lord, the triumph You have won
Has stirred our hearts to worship You
And to declare that You have done
The work that You alone could do.
