Consecation to Christ

"Who is on the LORD'S side?...  Consecrate yourselves today to the LORD... that He may bestow upon you a blessing this day" (Exodus 32:26-29).  "This is the generation of them that seek Him... The LORD of hosts, He is the King of glory" (Psalm 24:6-10).  "Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom" (Proverbs 18:1).  "Now our Lord Jesus Christ Himself... comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work" (2 Thessalonians 2:16,17).

There is a question God has asked
Which clarifies the great divide,
As true intentions are unmasked
Regarding who is on His side.

There is an earnest generation
That seeks the Lord and in Him boasts,
Delighting in their consecration
To Jesus Christ, the Lord of hosts.

There is a wisdom in desire
To consecrate our life to Christ,
Who lifts us from the sinful mire
Wherein we once had been enticed.

O Lord, in every word we speak
And every work that we may do,
The comfort that we daily seek
Is consecration more to You.
