"To the counselors of peace is joy" (Proverbs 12:20). "Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my glorying of you: I am filled with comfort, I am exceeding joyful in all our tribulation" (2 Corinthians 7:4).
There is a joy that thrills the heart
Of every counselor
Who shares the peace God will impart
Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Nothing else can quite compare
With this unique elation
Of counselors of peace who share
The way of God's salvation.
But counselors of peace must weep
Before their joys abound,
For sinners lost, for straying sheep,
And pray that they'll be found.
Yes, counselors of peace will go
Through trials and tribulations.
But still God's comfort they shall know
In every situation.
Help wanted: counselors of peace;
God's Spirit will employ.
The benefits shall never cease
Of everlasting joy!
