Sinful Silence

"As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, so is a faithful messenger to them that send him... As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country" (Proverbs 25:13,25).  "Ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence" (Isaiah 62:6).  "We have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins... God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory" (Colossians 1:14,27).

The time of harvest has arrived;
Let faithful messengers be sent
And with the Gospel be revived,
Redeeming time before it's spent!

Make mention of the Lord our Savior
As God provides an open door.
Declare the glory of His favor;
Keep not your silence anymore!

As Noah spoke before the flood
Regarding the escape from wrath,
So we proclaim that through the blood
Of Christ we find redemption's path.

Lord, show us what to do and say
To manifest Your glory thus
With sinful silence cast away
To show the truth of Christ in us.

Rejoicing in the Robe

"Sing unto the LORD, bless His name; show forth His salvation from day to day... O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness" (Psalm 96:9).  "I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, He hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels" (Isaiah 61:10).  "Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice" (Philippians 4:4).

Rejoice and sing now to the Lord,
And bless His name with jubilation.
Let Christ our Savior be adored
Who clothes us with His great salvation.

The beauty of His holiness
Has covered our iniquity.
How gladly now do we confess
That Christ is Lord eternally!

Our Savior took away the gloom
Replacing it with saving grace.
Soon, as a bride who meets her groom,
We shall rejoice to see His face!

Rejoicing in the robe You gave,
O Lord, we thank You for the price
You paid upon the cross to save
And clothe us by Your sacrifice!

Hearing or Hardening

"Today if ye will hear His voice, harden not your heart" (Psalm 95:7,8).  "My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe My ways" (Proverbs 23:26).  "In My favor have I had mercy on thee" (Isaiah 60:10).  "The peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:7).

Today the Lord still gives the choice
To either hear Him or be hardened.
All those who yet will hear His voice
And trust in Jesus shall be pardoned.

The Lord calls us to give our hearts
And let our eyes observe His ways.
How great the grace is He imparts
And favor that He thus displays!

The Lord will guard the hearts and minds
Of all who humbly seek His favor.
The peace of God a sinner finds
Is found by trusting Christ our Savior.

We thank You, Lord, for saving grace
For those who come with hearing ears.
May hardened hearts now seek Your face
To be delivered from their fears!

Subdued by the Savior

"The LORD is my Defense; and my God is the Rock of my refuge" (Psalm 94:22).  "A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished" (Proverbs 22:3).  "When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him" (Isaiah 59:19).  "We look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ:  who... is able even to subdue all things unto Himself" (Philippians 3:20,21).

The Lord our God is our Defense,
Our Rock, our Refuge where we hide,
Who gives to us such confidence
Because for us the Savior died.

God's Word enables us to see
The coming wrath that is ahead.
The prudent one to Christ shall flee;
The fool just passes on instead.

The enemy comes like a flood;
God's Spirit stands against his harm
To lift the standard of Christ's blood;
For the redeemed, there's no alarm!

We praise You, Jesus Christ our Savior,
So glad to know that You subdued
Our sins to bless us with Your favor!
Receive our heartfelt gratitude.

Victorious Voice

"The floods have lifted up their voice... The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea" (Psalm 93:3,4).  "There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD... Safety is of the LORD" (Proverbs 21:30,31).  "Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and show My people their transgression" (Isaiah 58:1).  "Shine as lights in the world, holding forth the Word of life" (Philippians 2:15,16).

The floods have lifted up their voice
To drown the truth by their seduction,
Persuading souls to make their choice
To go their way to their destruction.

There is a voice victorious
Much stronger than those mighty waves;
The Gospel truth is glorious,
Proclaiming boldly, "Jesus saves!"

We lift our voice as trumpets do
To show the lost the consequence
Of still refusing what is true,
Rejecting Christ and His defense.

The floods lift up their voice of strife,
O Lord, with their defiant stance,
Yet holding forth Your Word of life,
Victorious we still advance!
