Understanding the Unknown

"Because they regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of His hands, He shall destroy them, and not build them up... The LORD sitteth upon the flood… King forever" (Psalm 28:5; 29:10).  "THE UNKNOWN GOD…  declare I… commandeth all men everywhere to repent: because He hath appointed a day, in the which He will judge the world in righteousness by that Man whom He hath ordained… He hath given assurance unto all men, in that He hath raised Him from the dead" (Acts 17:23-31).

Though God Almighty was unknown
To those whose hearts were hard and dark,
The holiness of God was shown
When Noah went into the ark.

As Paul was speaking on Mars' Hill,
The UNKNOWN GOD was then displayed,
Since He made known His holy will
By all the things that He had made.

The moral law of God is broken,
Yet God commands with clear direction
To now repent, for He has spoken
Through Christ's triumphant resurrection.

O Lord, You've given understanding
With light the Gospel still imparts.
Though some will scoff at Your commanding,
You're not unknown to humble hearts.
