Ready or Reluctant?

"Touching the King: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer... for He is thy Lord; and worship thou Him" (Psalm 45:1,11).  "He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand... He that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame... The labor of the righteous tendeth to life... The lips of the righteous feed many" (Proverbs 10:4-21).  "Show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end... Be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises" (Hebrews 6:11,12).

We worship Christ, our God and King;
He is our Lord and only Savior,
And every ready gift we bring
Is from the riches of His favor.

We dare not let our hand be slack
Or sleep in harvest to our shame,
For God's supply shall never lack
With grace to glorify His name.

We ought to show with diligence
Our full assurance to the end
And with a ready confidence
Declare the truth that we defend.

Lord, cleanse reluctance from our ways;
Revive our hearts with consecration
With readiness to offer praise
To You, the God of our salvation.
