"The men of Israel answered the men of Judah, and said, We have ten parts in the king, and we have also more right in David than ye… And the words of the men of Judah were fiercer than the words of the men of Israel" (2 Samuel 19:43). "There are contentions among you… Is Christ divided?... But of Him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption… As it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord" (1 Corinthians 1:11-31).
Disturbing
divisions arise
Dividing us up
into parts,
Unless we are fixing
our eyes
On Christ as the
King of our hearts.
The words that
are stirring up strife
Distract from
our primary goals
Of making Christ
Lord of our life
And leading to
Him precious souls.
At times we are
called to contend
When faith in
our Lord is assaulted,
But prideful
contentions shall end
When Christ in
our midst is exalted.
O Lord, grant us
wisdom and peace
That glorifies
You above all.
Disturbing
divisions shall cease
When we are
fulfilling our call.
