"O Lord GOD, Thou hast begun to show Thy servant Thy greatness, and Thy mighty hand" (Deuteronomy 3:24). "The LORD hath made known His salvation: His righteousness hath He openly showed in the sight of the heathen. He hath remembered His mercy and His truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God" (Psalm 98:2,3). "The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up" (Matthew 4:16 ).
The greatness of God's mighty hand
Throughout the earth is clearly shown.
The Gospel sent to every land
Has made His great salvation known.
His mercy and His truth are seen
Upon the cross where Jesus died
To make the vilest sinner clean
Who by his faith is justified.
We show our Savior's mighty arm
Who from His purpose never swerved
To run into the path of harm
To bear the wrath that we deserved.
Lord, we were hopeless and so blind,
As in the darkness, death drew near,
But now we show how You have shined
By making Your salvation clear.
