Redemption Remembered

"Keep the Passover unto the LORD thy God … Three times in a year …appear before the LORD thy God…in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles" (Deuteronomy 16:1,16).  "He hath made His wonderful works to be remembered… He sent redemption unto His people" (Psalm 111:4,9).  "Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men: and they shall kill Him, and the third day He shall be raised again" (Matthew 17:22,23).

Redemption has been typified
In offerings that were sacrificed,
And prophets also prophesied
Of the redemptive work of Christ.

In prophecy they looked ahead,
As in the feasts they celebrated,
But now, as in the wine and bread,
Redemption now is contemplated.

How great is each memorial
Portraying thus redemption's cost
Through Jesus' death, His burial,
And resurrection for the lost!

O Lord, in each prophetic token
We hear Your own triumphant voice
As we remember words You've spoken
And in redemption we rejoice!
