Trumpet of Triumph

"God is gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet... sing ye praises with understanding" (Psalm 47:5-7).  "Sing unto the LORD; for He hath done excellent things: this is known in all the earth" (Isaiah 12:5).  "Knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep... let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light" (Romans 13:11,12).

Our God has gone up with a shout;
His empty tomb is left behind!
His promise kept removes all doubt,
Rejoicing heart, and soul, and mind!

The Lord ascends with trumpet sound;
The heavens ring with songs of praise!
Behold our risen Savior crowned
And see the triumph He displays!

Sing to the Lord, the King of kings,
Declare our Savior's matchless worth,
For He has done such wondrous things
Which are made known in all the earth!

The time has come to sow and reap!
O may His trumpet call be heard,
For now is not the time to sleep,
But rather for us to be stirred!

The trumpet calls us to the fight
To rescue souls in darkness still.
Put on the armor of God's light
And triumph in His perfect will.

Eternity is just ahead;
Our life on earth shall soon be spent.
Lord, in Your triumph we are led,
And by Your trumpet call we're sent.

Lord, thank You for the trumpet call
To walk in triumph that You give
And grace that lifts us when we fall
That we may for Your glory live.

Melted by His Mouth

"The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: He uttered His voice, the earth melted... Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth" (Psalm 46:6,10).  "There shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots... He shall smite the earth with the rod of His mouth... And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse... to it shall the Gentiles seek: and His rest shall be glorious" (Isaiah 11:1,4,10).

Consider how the heathen rage
(Which are foreseen in prophecy)
As Christ confronts them in that age
When they behold His majesty.

The wrath of God shall then be felt
When Satan's armies face the Lamb.
The Lord shall speak; the earth shall melt,
For Jesus is the great I AM.

Be still, and know that He is God;
The way of sinners shall be halted.
The Lord shall break them with His rod:
He'll speak the word and be exalted.

Our Savior came from heaven's throne
And grew up as the righteous Branch.
He died and rose for all His own,
And in His triumph we advance.

Promotion comes not from the south,
Nor from the east, nor from the west,
For judgment, Lord, comes from Your mouth;
How glorious then shall be Your rest!

Lord, thank You for that happy day
Our hearts were melted by Your Word.
How gracious are the things You say
As by Your mouth our soul is stirred!

Returning Remnant

"Forget also thine own people, and thy father's house; so shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for He is thy Lord; and worship thou Him" (Psalm 45:10,11).  "The wise shall inherit glory" (Proverbs 3:35).  "The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, unto the mighty God" (Isaiah 10:21).  "Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace" (Romans 11:5).

The Lord bids Jew as well as Gentile
To find their refuge in His grace.
Though Jews be distant for awhile,
The remnant shall resume their place.

Yet even now has God reserved
A remnant that exists today
Of Jewish hearts which have not swerved
From Jesus Christ, whom they obey.

Forsaking thus their vain tradition,
Forgetting false religious duty,
They worship Christ in sweet submission,
As they reflect upon His beauty.

They see the glory they inherit
Was purchased by their Lord and Savior.
They have no hope in their own merit,
But trust in their Messiah's favor.

The Jewish remnant shall return,
Which in their day shall be refined,
And in that day they shall discern
How they had sinned when they were blind.

Praise God that in this present time
A Jewish remnant shall exist,
A foretaste of that day sublime
When Christ is reigning in their midst.

O Lord, we thank for Your grace
That draws the Jew and Gentile too.
We pray that more may seek You face
And earnestly Your heart pursue!

Create, O Lord, a fervent yearning
In hearts Your Spirit will revive
To see Your remnant thus returning,
As You convince them You're alive!

Blest Boast

"In God we boast all the day long, and praise Thy name forever" (Psalm 44:8).  "For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace" (Isaiah 9:6).  "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Romans 10:13).

In God we boast throughout the day,
And we will praise His name forever.
He died to wash our sins away;
He lives, and He will leave us never.

How rightly do we celebrate
Our Savior as the Child born,
God's Son who thus would demonstrate
His love for sinners, though they scorn.

His name is surely Wonderful,
Our Counselor, The Mighty God,
Eternal Father of our soul,
The Prince of Peace with heaven's rod.

How blest we are to now proclaim
And boast in Him whom we adore,
For all who call upon His name
By grace are saved forevermore!

Lord, as we contemplate Your grace
And boast in Your unending love,
You bless us as we seek Your face
And fix our eyes on things above.

O Lord, we love to boast in You,
Our Refuge and Eternal Rest,
For thus we find the more we do,
The more our hearts by You are blest!

Joy of Light in Jesus our Lord

"O send out Thy light and Thy truth:  let them lead me; let them bring me unto Thy holy hill, and to Thy tabernacles.  Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy; yea upon the harp will I praise Thee, O God, my God" (Psalm 43:3,4).  "And ye now therefore have sorrow:  but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you" (John 16:22).

Led by the light and the truth of God's Word,
I know that by these I'll ascend
Now to the altar where Jesus endured
For joy that He saw in the end.

O what assurance!  Though seasons of sorrow
In God's time will come now and then,
Upon the horizon there dawns a tomorrow
When Jesus shall come back again!

We shall be joined with our Lord in the air
With all of the souls He redeemed.
No fleeting joy on this earth will compare,
No matter how thrilling it seemed!

Thank You, Lord Jesus, for light You deploy
To guide us with truth and with grace
As You lead us onward to ultimate joy
Where You have prepared us a place.
