Target Truth

"Know ye that the LORD He is God: it is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves… His truth endureth to all generations" (Psalm 100:3,5).  "Train up a child… that thy trust may be in the Lord… Have not I written to thee excellent things in counsels and knowledge, that I might make thee know the certainty of the words of truth; that thou mightest answer the words of truth to them?" (Proverbs 22:6,19-21).  "I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 3:14). 

We know we didn't make ourselves,

Though this is what is taught in schools

In published textbooks on their shelves

By authors God has said are fools. 

In times when facts are so obscured

In classrooms poisoning our youth, 

The Word of God has still endured

With evidence that targets truth. 

The certainty of truth is plain

With counsels in God's perfect Word

Whereby we teach those whom we train

To turn from lies that they have heard. 

We target truth exposing lies,

O Lord, as You extend Your grace. 

This is our calling and our prize

Until we see You face to face.
