Faithful vs. False

"Wherefore discourage ye the heart?" (Numbers 32:7).  "A faithful messenger… refresheth the soul… Whoso boasteth himself of a false gift is like clouds and wind without rain… As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country" (Proverbs 25:13,14,25).  "These are the true sayings of God... I saw heaven opened… and He that… was called Faithful and True… and His name is called The Word of God.  And the armies which were in heaven followed Him" (Revelation 19:9-14).

Beware of the discouragement
From those pretending to be true,
By promising with false intent
To do what they will never do.

There is a contrast that is plain
In faithful messengers today,
Unlike the clouds that promise rain,
And then will merely drift away.

How pure and true the sayings are
Of God who surely cannot lie,
As good news from a country far
With waters cool that satisfy!

O Lord, we know You're in control;
The false tongue shall not long endure.
Your faithful words refresh the soul
And furnish well Your messenger.
