Justly Judging

Read:  Psalm 75 / Proverbs 22 / Exodus 20 / 1 Corinthians 16

Psalm 75:7,8 God is the Judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another... In the hand of the LORD there is a cup.
Proverbs 22:3 A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.
Exodus 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before Me.
1 Corinthians 16:22 If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maran-atha.

My God is Judge of all creation;
He puts down one;  He sets one up.
He is the Lord of my salvation
Because He drank my bitter cup.

The first commandment of my God
Prohibits all idolatry.
Away with idols false and flawed!
I'll love the Lord who first loved me!

Stay Steadfast

Read:  Psalm 74 / Proverbs 21 / Exodus 19 / 1 Corinthians 15

Psalm 74:12,23 God is my King of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth... The tumult of those that rise up against thee increaseth continually.
Proverbs 21:29-31 A wicked man hardeneth his face: but as for the upright, he directeth his way. There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD. The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD.
Exodus 19:4 Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself.
1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord... ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

The day is coming when, at last,
We shall be changed and be with Christ.
The rising tumult shall be passed
With vain distractions that enticed.

Stay steadfast and unmovable;
We shall be brought on eagles' wings
To Christ with every raptured soul.
Till then, be done, with lesser things!

Guiding my Goings

Read:  Psalm 73 / Proverbs 20 / Exodus 18 / 1 Corinthians 14

Psalm 73:24 Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.
Proverbs 20:24 Man's goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?
Exodus 18:23 If thou shalt do this thing, and God command thee so, then thou shalt be able to endure.
1 Corinthians 14:33 For God is not the Author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

The Lord shall guide me everyday
And afterward receive me up
To glory,  leading all the way,
As blessings overflow my cup.

My goings now approach conclusion,
Yet God's great mercy shall not cease.
He's not the Author of confusion,
But of my everlasting peace.

Graying with Grace

Read:  Psalm 71 / Proverbs 18 / Exodus 16 / 1 Corinthians 12

Psalm 71:17-18 O God, thou hast taught me from my youth... now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not until I have showed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to everyone that is to come.
Proverbs 18:15,21 The ear of the wise seeketh knowledge... Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
Exodus 16:9  Come near before the LORD: for He hath heard your murmurings.
1 Corinthians 12:18,31 Now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased Him.... and yet show I unto you a more excellent way.

The Lord who taught me from my youth
Will not forsake me when I'm old,
That I may magnify His truth
And show His mercies yet untold.

The murmurings that God has heard,
So void of truth and godly fear,
Shall be corrected by His Word
With grace that makes His purpose clear.

Favor Forever

Read:  Psalm 72 / Proverbs 19 / Exodus 17 / 1 Corinthians 13

Psalm 72:6 He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass: as showers that water the earth.
Proverbs 19:12 The king's wrath is as the roaring of a lion; but his favor is as dew upon the grass.
Exodus 17:6 Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink.
1 Corinthians 13:8,12 Charity never faileth... For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

The Lord of glory shall come down
As rain upon the grass with favor;
As King of kings, He'll wear the crown
To rule as our exalted Savior.

His favor comes to us forever
As water from the Rock once smitten.
He saved us, not by our endeavor,
But by His love, as it is written.
