Silence the Senseless

"Make His praise glorious… Come and see the works of God… Come and hear… and I will declare what He hath done for my soul" (Psalm 66:2,5,16).  "Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit" (Proverbs 26:5).  "This was the iniquity of… Sodom, pride, fullness of bread, and abundance of idleness" (Ezekiel 16:49).  "We have not followed cunningly devised fables… We have also a more sure Word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place" (2 Peter 1:16,19).

Our God is surely glorious;
Our praise of Him should be as well.
Our Savior was victorious
Who died to rescue us from hell!

The fool is wise in his conceit,
As Sodom once was in her pride,
But senseless words cannot compete
With proof that Scripture will provide.

For we have not devised mere fables:
It is the truth that makes us free!
It's time for us to turn the tables
With facts foretold in prophecy!

Lord, silence now the senseless crowd,
So they may see that You have spoken.
We thank You that we are allowed
To show that Scripture can't be broken.

Praise and Prayer

"Praise waiteth for thee, O God… O Thou that hearest prayer… iniquities prevail against me: as for our transgressions, Thou shalt purge them away" (Psalm 65:1-3).  "As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country" (Proverbs 25:25).  "The chief Shepherd shall appear…  Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time; casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you… The God of all grace…  hath called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus" (1 Peter 5:4,6,7,10).

Let praise and prayer ascend to God
Who purged transgressions from our soul;
There's no one greater to applaud,
Who grants redemption free and full!

Declare the message of salvation
To those who hunger and who thirst
For good news by the declaration
That Jesus died to save the cursed.

Our risen Shepherd shall appear,
Yet even now He meets our needs,
For every prayer we raise He'll hear,
As on our homeward path He leads.

O Lord, receive our praise and prayer
As humbly we draw near to You
To cast upon You all our care
With all Your care for us in view.

Wisely Working

"All men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of His doing" (Psalm 64:9).  "Through wisdom is an house builded… Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep, so shall thy poverty come" (Proverbs 24:3,33,34).  "As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God… that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion forever and ever. Amen" (1 Peter 4:10,11).

The day is surely drawing near
When men shall see and wisely tell
The work of God that shall be clear
Which they shall then consider well.

We should be wisely working now
As God gives the ability
To serve Him, while He will allow,
With gifts He gave us graciously.

We are the stewards of the grace
That God has given for a reason
As we obey Him in this place
And glorify Him in this season.

May we be wisely working, Lord,
And using gifts You freely gave,
Redeeming time that You afford
On this side of the coming grave.

Wells without Water

"O God, Thou art my God… my flesh longeth for Thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is" (Psalm 63:1).  "Buy the truth, and sell it not… My son, give Me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe My ways" (Proverbs 23:23,26).  "Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!" (Ezekiel 13:3).  "Sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you" (1 Peter 3:15).

Within this dry and thirsty land,
We show where living water is:
In Christ alone we understand
The only well of life is His.

God's Word shall satisfy the thirst
Of all those drinking from its well,
Who know the Lord who loved us first
And died to save our souls from hell.

The Lord our God pronounced the woe
To those who follow their own spirit.
Their false prophetic word will show
Their empty wells to those who hear it.

O Lord, these wells in every season
Without Your water, still are dry.
Our hope in You provides the reason
To everyone who asks us why.

Trust at all Times

"Trust in Him at all times" (Psalm 62:8).  "That thy trust may be in the LORD, I have made known to thee… the certainty of the words of truth; that thou mightest answer the words of truth" (Proverbs 22:19-21).  "I am the LORD: I will speak, and the Word that I shall speak shall come to pass" (Ezekiel 12:25).  "Ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvelous light" (1 Peter 2:9).

We're safely trusting in the Lord,
Instead of trusting mortal man.
The Gospel truth which we've explored
Declares our Savior's perfect plan.

The counsel of the Lord is sure
We see fulfilled in prophecy,
For every Word of God is pure
Which we may prove with certainty.

We trust in God who speaks the Word,
And every time, it comes to pass.
We trust not other things we've heard
From men who perish like the grass.

O Lord, it's good to trust in You
At all times in our generation
As we declare Your Word is true
And show the truth of Your salvation.
