"Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain" (Psalm 127:1). "The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the Lord" (Proverbs 21:31).
Build if you want, but your labor will fail,
Unless God is the One who erects.
Watch if you want, but you cannot prevail,
Unless God is the One who protects.
