"Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken Thou me in Thy way" (Psalm 119:37). "Better is the sight of the eyes than the wandering of the desire: this is also vanity and vexation of spirit" (Ecclesiastes 6:9).
Lord, You know my inclination,
Toward the vain to my vexation.
Yet when I muse on You I ponder:
What a fool I've been to wander!
