Read:  Psalm 44 / Proverbs 19 / Isaiah 54 /Acts 22 

 

Psalm 44:8 ~ In God we boast all the day long, and praise thy name for ever. Selah.

Proverbs 19:23 ~ The fear of the LORD tendeth to life… he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.

Isaiah 54:13,17 ~ All thy children shall be taught of the LORD… This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

Acts 22:15 ~ For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard.

 

In God we’re boasting all day long;

We are the heralds of His Word. 

Though we are weak, the Lord is strong;

Our heritage is thus assured.

 

We are His children by new birth;

Our righteousness has come from Christ. 

It was for this He came to earth

And for this cause was sacrificed.

At the Altar

Read:  Psalm 43 / Proverbs 18 / Isaiah 53 /Acts 21

 

Psalm 43:3,4 ~ O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me… bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles. Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God.

Proverbs 18:1 ~ Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom.

Isaiah 53:11 ~ He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

Acts 21:13,14 ~ I am ready… to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus...The will of the Lord be done.

 

I sought and found my God and Savior

Here at the altar of His cross. 

He died to grant His saving favor

And rescue me from endless loss.

 

I see this altar prophesied

Throughout Isaiah fifty-three

Where God says I am justified

By all that Christ endured for me!

Faithful Friend

Read:  Psalm 42 / Proverbs 17 / Isaiah 52 /Acts 20

 

Psalm 42:5 ~ Why art thou cast down, O my soul?... hope thou in God… I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.

Proverbs 17:17 ~ A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

Isaiah 52:14 ~ As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:

Acts 20:32 ~ And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

 

We hope in God eternally;

He is our Helper to the end. 

Through all of our adversity,

The Lord is still our faithful Friend. 

 

The visage of our Lord was marred

When sinners spit upon His face. 

Why would He do this work so hard?

It was to save us by His grace!

Fighting in my Favor

Read:  Psalm 41 / Proverbs 16 / Isaiah 51 /Acts 19

 

Psalm 41:11 ~ By this I know that thou favorest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.

Proverbs 16:7 ~ When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.

Isaiah 51:12 ~ I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die?

Acts 19:15 ~ And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

 

The Lord is fighting in my favor!  

My enemies in darkness know

That my defense is in my Savior

Who sides with me against my foe. 

 

Since God Almighty comforts me,

Reminding me He’s on my side,

My confidence shall always be

In Christ, in whom I safely hide.

Proclaim His Prophecies

Read:  Psalm 40 / Proverbs 15 / Isaiah 50 /Acts 18

 

Psalm 40:5-8 ~ Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done… Sin offering hast thou not required. Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me, I delight to do thy will, O my God.

Proverbs 15:11 ~ Hell and destruction are before the LORD: how much more then the hearts of the children of men?

Isaiah 50:6 ~ I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.

Acts 18:5 ~ Paul was pressed in the spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus was Christ. 

 

How wondrous is our Savior’s love,

So boundless that it would compel

Our Lord to leave His throne above

To save us from eternal hell! 

 

He did not hide His face from shame

When sinners spit upon His face.

How we can help but to proclaim

His prophecies of saving grace?

Our Hope Of Heaven

Read:  Psalm 39 / Proverbs 14 / Isaiah 49 /Acts 17

 

Psalm 39:7 ~ Now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee.

Proverbs 14:32 ~ The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous hath hope in his death.

Isaiah 49:6 ~ I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.

Acts 17:31 ~ He will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

 

Our hope of heaven is in Christ

From whom we borrow every breath. 

If He had not been sacrificed,

We would be hopeless in our death. 

The Gospel light is in His Word

Which Christ has sent to every nation.

Because He lives, we are assured

He is the Hope of our salvation.

Answer of Ambassadors

Psalm 38:9 ~ Lord, all my desire is before thee; and my groaning is not hid from thee.

Proverbs 13:17 ~ A faithful ambassador is health.

Isaiah 48:6,17 ~ Thou hast heard, see all this; and will not ye declare it?...  I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.

Acts 16:30-32 ~ Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved… And they spake unto him the word of the Lord.

 

The Lord has heard the groaning heart

Of those who know that they are poor. 

The riches Jesus will impart

Are told by His ambassador. 

 

As His ambassadors we speak

To answer sinners who have craved

To find the help and hope they seek

In Christ, by whom they can be saved.

Path of Perfect Peace

Psalm 37:37 ~ Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.

Proverbs 12:28 ~ In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death.

Isaiah 47:7 ~ And thou… didst not lay these things to thy heart, neither didst remember the latter end of it. 

Acts 15:18 ~ Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.

 

The Lord perfects us day by day;

His lovingkindness does not cease.

He leads the upright in His way

Upon His path of perfect peace. 

 

We ought to lay these things to heart

And walk the path that God has shown,

That we may thus from sin depart

And thereby make His glory known.

As we explore the excellence

Of Christ who gives us life and light,

We thank the Lord for His defense

Upon the cross to win our fight.  

 

The prophecies that we review

Regarding God’s beloved Son

We prove His promises are true

As we rehearse what He has done.

Whisphered Words

Psalm 35:1,3 ~ O LORD… say unto my soul, I am thy salvation.

Proverbs 10:22 ~ The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.

Isaiah 45:21,22 ~ There is no God else beside me; a just God and a Savior… Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.

Acts 13:39 ~ By him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

 

I hear my Savior’s affirmation

Which He has whispered in my ear:

Certainty of Cyrus Cited

Psalm 34:11 ~ Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD… Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all. He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken. 

Proverbs 9:10 ~ The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

Isaiah 44:24-28 ~ Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer… I am the LORD… that saith of Cyrus, He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid.

Withstanding His Will

Psalm 33:8,9 ~ Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.

Proverbs 8:27,29 ~ When he prepared the heavens, I was there… when he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth.

Isaiah 43:7 ~ Every one that is called by my name… I have created him for my glory, I have formed…  I have made him.

Acts 11:17 ~ God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed… What was I, that I could withstand God?

 

Let all the earth now stand in awe

Of God and everything He does,

For He established nature’s law

Before creation ever was.

 

The awesome God of all creation,

Who formed all things by His command,

Extends to all His great salvation,

Which fools may choose to yet withstand.
