Lord vs. Liars

Read:  Psalm 3 / Proverbs 9 / Isaiah 13 /John 2

Psalm 3:2,3 ~ Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.  But Thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.

Proverbs 9:12 ~ If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.

Isaiah 13:11 ~ I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.

John 2:22 ~ When… he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.

The things that people falsely say

Which contradict the Word of God

Shall be exposed as lies someday,

Though fools approve them and applaud.

The promise of our Lord to rise

Was heard by those who mocked His claim,

But Jesus rose to their surprise,

And liars thus were put to shame.

Kiss the King

Read:  Psalm 2 / Proverbs 8 / Isaiah 12 /John 1

Psalm 2:12 ~ Kiss the Son, lest… ye perish from the way… Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

Proverbs 8:35,36 ~ For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favor of the LORD. But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.

Isaiah 12:2 ~ Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.

John 1:45,49 ~ We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph… Nathanael answered and saith unto Him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.

We worship the King we have cherished;

We gratefully kiss God the Son.

Without Him we all would have perished,

For no one is sinless, not one.

The Lord is our Strength and our Song;

Salvation through Jesus Christ came.

The prophets foretold all along

His Gospel we gladly proclaim.

Meditate and Magnify

Read:  Psalm 1 / Proverbs 07 / Isaiah 11 /Luke 24

Psalm 1:1,2 ~ Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly… But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

Proverbs 7:1 ~ My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.

Isaiah 11:10 ~ And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

Luke 24:25-27 ~ He said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

How greatly blessed is everyone

Who meditates upon our Savior.

Praise God, the work that saves is done

By which we have obtained His favor!

We meditate upon the story

Foretold by prophets who had spoken.

We magnify our Savior’s glory;

His promises are never broken!

Proclaim His Praise

Read:  Psalm 150 / Proverbs 06 / Isaiah 10 /Luke 23

Psalm 150:1,2 ~ Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.

Proverbs 6:3 ~ Do this now, my son, and deliver thyself, when thou art come into the hand of thy friend; go, humble thyself, and make sure thy friend.

Isaiah 10:21 ~ The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, unto the mighty God.

Luke 23:42,43 ~ He said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.

Praise God for all His mighty acts.

Praise God for who He truly is.

Praise God as we explore the facts,

For all creation’s works are His.

Praise God that He became our Savior

When every other hope grew dim!

Proclaim His praise for all His favor

Bestowed on all who trust in Him!

Prophetic Pleasure

Read:  Psalm 149 / Proverbs 05 / Isaiah 9 /Luke 22

Psalm 149:4 ~ For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.

Proverbs 5:1,9 ~ My son, attend unto my wisdom, and bow thine ear to my understanding… Lest thou give thine honor unto others, and thy years unto the cruel.

Isaiah 9:6 ~ For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Luke 22:37 ~ For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.

The Lord takes pleasure in His own;

He beautifies them with salvation.

This is the blessing He made known

By His prophetic declaration.

Our God foresaw that some would scorn

And spurn His Son whom He would send,

Yet unto us a Child is born,

For what He promised has an end.
