Grow in Grace

Read:  Psalm 81 / Proverbs 2 / Deut. 30 / 2 Peter 3

 

Psalm 81:10 ~ I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.

Proverbs 2:6 ~ For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

Deuteronomy 30:20 ~ That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and… mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days.

2 Peter 3:18 ~ But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen.

 

The Lord our God and Savior lives

Who satisfies our longing soul

With wisdom that He freely gives

And with His love so wonderful. 

 

We grow to love Him more each day,

The more His goodness is explored.

We grow in grace as we obey

The voice of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Words, Works, and the Will

Read:  Psalm 80 / Proverbs 1 / Deut. 29 / 2 Peter 2

 

Psalm 80:1,19 ~ O Shepherd of Israel…Turn us again, O LORD God of hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

Proverbs 1:23 ~ Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.

Deuteronomy 29:29 ~ The secret things belong unto the LORD our God… things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.

2 Peter 2:5 ~ And [God] spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly. 

 

How good our Shepherd is who came

And caused His face to shine on us! 

He died to bear our sin and shame

And rose from death victorious. 

 

God’s words and works are on display,

Yet He has given man free will. 

Just as it was in Noah’s day,

The truth may be rejected still.
