Searching Savior

Read:  Psalm 143 / Proverbs 5 / Leviticus 5 / 1 Corinthians 9

Psalm 143:8 ~ Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.

Proverbs 5:21 ~ For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings.

Leviticus 5:19 ~ It is a trespass offering: he hath certainly trespassed against the LORD.

1 Corinthians 9:16 ~ I preach the gospel… for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!

The Lord is causing me to ponder

The lovingkindness of His favor.

He calls to those who blindly wander

To find their refuge in the Savior.

The Lord is searching us within;

His light exposes every thought.

I’ll preach to souls yet lost in sin,

For woe is me if I do not!

Loved by the Lord

Read:  Psalm 142 / Proverbs 4 / Leviticus 4 / 1 Corinthians 8

Psalm 142:3 ~ When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then thou knewest my path.

Proverbs 4:11 ~ I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.

Leviticus 4:24 ~ And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the goat, and kill it in the place where they kill the burnt offering before the LORD: it is a sin offering.

1 Corinthians 8:3 ~ If any man love God, the same is known of him.

When I began to ponder wrath,

My heart was overwhelmed with fear.

I thank the Lord, who knew my path

And made His great salvation clear.

My soul was hopeless, lost in sin,

But I was loved by Jesus Christ!

He saw my deepest need within

And for my soul was sacrificed.

Words of Wisdom

Read:  Psalm 141 / Proverbs 3 / Leviticus 3 / 1 Corinthians 7

Psalm 141:3,4 ~ Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth…  Incline not my heart to any evil thing.

Proverbs 3:12,13 ~ Whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth. Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.

Leviticus 3:6 ~ His offering for a sacrifice of peace offering unto the LORD… he shall offer it without blemish.

1 Corinthians 7:29,31 ~ The time is short… use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away.

We need the Lord to purify

The things proceeding from our hearts.

Upon the Lord we must rely

For words of wisdom He imparts.

Let every blemished offering cease

In everything we do and say,

For time is short for preaching peace,

And soon this earth shall pass away.

Surrender to the Savior

Read:  Psalm 140 / Proverbs 2 / Leviticus 2 / 1 Corinthians 6

Psalm 140:7 ~ O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.

Proverbs 2:7 ~ He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.

Leviticus 2:11,13 ~ Ye shall burn no leaven, nor any honey, in any offering of the LORD made by fire… And every oblation of thy meat offering shalt thou season with salt.

1 Corinthians 6:19,20 ~ Your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost… Ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

My head is covered by the Lord;

He is my Savior and my Shield.

The Word of God has been my sword

By which the Gospel is revealed.

Sometimes the battle is within

As Jesus calls me to surrender.

Awake, my soul! Be done with sin

To live for Christ, your soul’s Defender!

Pondering our Passover

Read:  Psalm 139 / Proverbs 1 / Leviticus 1 / 1 Corinthians 5

Psalm 139:17,18 ~ How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! They are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.

Proverbs 1:32,33 ~ For the turning away of the simple shall slay them… But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely.

Leviticus 1:17 ~ A burnt sacrifice [is] an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor unto the LORD.

1 Corinthians 5:7 ~ Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us.

The thoughts of God convey His will

Expounded in His precious Word.

When we awake, He’s speaking still

As we have pondered what we’ve heard.

We think of Jesus sacrificed;

How could the Lord have given more?

Our great Passover, Jesus Christ,

We ponder still, and we adore!
