“The LORD'S throne is in heaven: His eyes behold, His eyelids try, the children of men” (Psalm 11:4). “My son, give Me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe My ways” (Proverbs 23:26). “Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower… He that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit” (Matthew 13:18-23).
The
eyes of God are never dim;
He
clearly sees humanity.
We
either give our hearts to Him,
Or
vex our souls with vanity.
How
gracious is His call to us
That
bids us give to Him our heart
That
He may make us prosperous
By
grace which He will then impart!
He
tells us to observe His ways
And
thereby find abundant life.
A
heart that prudently obeys
Is
saved from self-destructive strife.
A
parabolic illustration
Of
sower, seed, and fertile ground,
Portrays
those who receive salvation
And
also fruitfully abound.
The
other grounds that Christ had shown
Were
hardened, stony, thorn infested.
The
seed (God’s Word) in them was sown,
But
these, at last, weren’t interested.
We
see the ground that Christ called good
Was
evident by bearing fruit.
When
God’s Word has been understood
And
thus obeyed, it will take root.
Lord,
thank You for Your precious Word
Which
thus communicates Your voice.
As
we obey what we have heard,
We
bear much fruit and we rejoice.
Lord,
help us sow among the lost
The
Gospel seed, and as we do,
We
pray that they will count the cost
You
paid to draw their hearts to You.
