Ready Robes

“I am the LORD which hallows you” (Leviticus 22:32).  “The LORD is righteous in all His ways, and holy in all His works.  The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon Him, to all that call upon Him in truth.  He will fulfill the desire of them that fear Him: He also will hear their cry, and will save them” (Psalm 145:17-19).  “Praise our God… Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to Him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and His wife hath made herself ready.  And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints” (Revelation 19:5-8).

The Lord alone can make us holy
Without a hint of compromise.
He searches us and knows us fully
With all our ways before His eyes.

Our Lord is right in all His ways,
So sin cannot be brushed aside.
How rightly we declare His praise,
For this why our Savior died!

The Lord affirms that He is near
To all who truly on Him call.
He knows each one who is sincere,
And He will justly save them all.

Our Lord fulfills the deep desires
Of all who fear and trust His name.
The righteousness His Law requires
Was met in full when Jesus came.

His bride, the Church, is now in sight;
We see at last how she prepares:
The linen granted, clean and white,
Is not her righteousness she wears!

The spotless beauty of her dress
Reflects the sinlessness of Christ
Who granted us His righteousness
When He, for us, was a sacrificed!

We praise You, Lord, and we rejoice;
Your love displayed is marvelous!
In mercy You have heard our voice,
And with Your life You ransomed us!

We are partakers with Your saints,
For You, O Lord, have made us fit
With ready robes which no sin taints
Because Your grace is infinite!

O Lord, we stand before Your throne,
Since we are boldly welcomed there,
And pray that we may make You known
To other hearts You will prepare.

Lord, as Your Holy Spirit probes
And still reproves the lost today,
We show to them Your ready robes
You give to those who humbly pray.
