“Arise, O LORD… So shall the congregation of the people compass Thee about: for their sakes therefore return Thou on high” (Psalm 7:6,7). “When He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith He unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few; pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He will send forth laborers into His harvest” (Matthew 9:36-38).
The
congregation of our Savior
Is
anywhere His people are.
He
died to compass them with favor;
He
lives to draw them from afar.
Behold
the greatness and the fashion
Of
Christ our Savior’s wondrous love:
His
heart was moved with such compassion
He
left His majesty above!
He
saw us as His sheep astray
When
we were fainting and were scattered.
He
knew there was a price to pay,
But
saving us was all that mattered.
How
wonderful it is to know
We
are His blood-bought congregation!
We
are commissioned now to go
And
preach the Gospel of salvation!
The
harvest now is plenteous,
And
yet the laborers are few.
Our
Savior’s love is marvelous!
His
Gospel we proclaim is true!
It’s
time for us to each respond
And
pray for workers in the field,
As
we are called to look beyond
To
multitudes who are not healed.
How
great, Lord, is Your wondrous grace
That
rescues souls from holy wrath!
You
are the only Hiding Place;
You
are the only Saving Path!
Arise,
O Lord, and lead us on
To
preach the Gospel by Your Spirit.
The
harvest time will soon be gone;
Prepare
the hearts who yet will hear it!
O
Lord, we see the multitudes
Who
need Your grace are everywhere!
We
preach Your Gospel which includes
Your
great compassion we declare!
