“Let all those that put their trust in Thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because Thou defendest them: let them also that love Thy name be joyful in Thee” (Psalm 5:11). “A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity” (Proverbs 17:17). “We see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death… that He by the grace of God should taste death for every man… for the which cause He is not ashamed to call them brethren” (Hebrew 2:9-11).
Let
all who put their trust in Christ
Rejoice
for all He’s done for them!
In
order to be sacrificed,
Our
Lord was born in Bethlehem.
He
came from heaven to defend
Our
souls which faced eternal shame.
There
surely is no better Friend;
No
wonder, then, we love His name!
How
much His friendship to us cost:
He
bore the weight of all our crimes!
Without
this Friend we would be lost,
This
Friend who loved us at all times!
Our
Lord was born to die for us
And
save our souls eternally.
Is
not our Savior marvelous,
Who
saved us in adversity?
Our
Lord became our very Kin!
He
knew there was no other way
To
thus redeem our souls from sin,
Since
we, like sheep, had gone astray.
O
Lord, You came to be our Brother,
So,
as our Kinsman, You could die.
Apart
from You there is no other
Who
has the means to justify!
You
are, O Lord, the Brother Born
Who
tasted death for us by grace!
We
show Your love, and yet we warn
The
lost to turn and seek Your face.
