“The priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that ye may be clean from all your sins before the LORD” (Leviticus 16:30). “O LORD, Thou hast searched me, and known me... Thou understandest my thought afar off” (Psalm 139:1,2). “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge… Turn you at My reproof: behold, I will pour out My Spirit unto you, I will make known My words unto you… Whoso hearkeneth unto Me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil” (Proverbs 1:7,23,33). “If any man have an ear, let him hear” (Revelation 13:9).
The
Lord has searched and surely known
The
depths of who we truly are.
He
looks upon us from His throne
And
understands our thoughts afar.
In
light of this, what shall we do?
For
God is holy, yet we’re not,
And
nothing has escaped His view
As
He examines every thought!
Behold,
our Mediator stands,
Our
Priest, who for our sins has died:
He
shows His feet, His side, His hands,
Declaring
He is satisfied!
True
knowledge here has its beginning,
When
we have rightly feared the Lord
And
turned at His reproof from sinning
As
His own Spirit is outpoured.
We
hear the comfort of His Word:
In
Christ our Lord we safely dwell.
By
God Himself we are assured
That
with our souls, it shall be well.
Though
accusations like a flood
Against
us fortify their case,
Our
Savior looks upon the blood,
Affirming
we are saved by grace!
O
Lord, how great is Your salvation
That
cleanses us from all our sins,
That
saves us from all condemnation,
And
every case against us wins!
Lord,
help us now to speak to hearts,
Which
You are searching by Your Spirit,
Of
safety that Your grace imparts
To those with ears who yet will hear it.
