“The LORD hath sworn in truth unto David; He will not turn from it…This is My rest forever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it” (Psalm 132:11,12). “That thy trust may be in the LORD, I have made known to thee this day, even to thee. Have not I written to thee excellent things in counsels and knowledge, that I might make thee know the certainty of the words of truth; that thou mightest answer the words of truth to them that send unto thee?” (Proverbs 22:19-21). “Come and see” (Revelation 6:1).
The
Lord has sworn and will not turn
From
all He promised He will do.
He
now invites us each to learn
The
certainty of what is true.
He
calls His own to come and see
The
joy of His eternal rest.
We
hear our Savior’s sworn decree,
And
by its sureness we are blest!
Our
faith is settled on this rock,
For
God, who promised, cannot lie.
Though
fools (as promised) blindly mock,
We
trust God’s Word, and we know why.
For
God has shown His faithfulness
By
His fulfilled, prophetic Word.
Our
trust is not a wishful guess,
For
what He promised has occurred!
We
answer all who want to know
The
reason why our hope is strong:
With
readiness we simply show
God’s
prophets NEVER got it wrong!
God’s
Word foretold that Bethlehem
Would
be the birth place of our Lord,
And
that He’d be despised by them,
Rejected,
rather than adored!
The
counsel of our Lord shall stand
When
earthly kingdoms turn to dust.
His
Word declares what He has planned,
And
this is where we safely trust.
We
thank You, Lord, for excellence
Of
counsel in the Scripture’s pages.
Our
faith is built on evidence
That
You have proven through the ages.
Lord,
lead us forth to show the way
Of
faith, through which You save by grace,
As
You prepare the hearts to pray
Of
those who humbly seek Your face.
