“Sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves… Make a difference between… that [which] may be eaten and… may not be eaten” (Leviticus 11:44-47). “Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the LORD” (Psalm 134:2). “My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste: so shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off” (Proverbs 24:13,14). “The Word of the LORD came… saying… I am thy Shield, and thy exceeding great Reward” (Genesis 15:1). “The prayers of all saints… ascended up before God” (Revelation 8:3,4).
We
sanctify ourselves today
By
living for our Savior’s smile
And
feeding on what God will say
Instead
of that which will defile.
We
are a temple for the Lord
Where
fellowship with Him is sweet,
And
sin should always be abhorred
As
fruit He tells us not to eat.
God’s
diet plan is clearly shown:
We
sup with Him; He sups with us.
We
shall not live by bread alone,
But
by His words so marvelous.
Our
thoughts should not unwisely roam,
But
meditate upon God’s Word,
Much
sweeter than the honeycomb,
By
which our love for Him is stirred.
The
Word of God will thus prepare
Our
hearts to worship Christ our Lord
And
sanctify Him also there
As
our exceeding great Reward.
As
hearing God is necessary,
So
too is worship with our prayers
As
incense in the sanctuary
Arising
to Him with our cares.
We
thank You, Lord, for Your provision
To
satisfy our appetite
To
know Your will in each decision
As
in Your counsel we delight.
Lord,
since this world we are in
Is
not the world we are of,
We
know You’re guarding us from sin
With
wisdom given from above.
Equip
us, Lord, by what You’ve said,
To
show the lost Your great salvation
As
we are at Your table fed
And
sent forth with Your preparation.
