“And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, See, I have called by name Bezaleel (Heb. בְּצַלְאֵל In the Shade of God)… and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, to devise cunning works… And in the hearts of all that are wise hearted I have put wisdom, that they may make all that I have commanded thee” (Exodus 31:1-6). “As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God” (1 Peter 4:10).
Behold the blessings God imparted
To Be-za-le-el, called to build,
Along with those who were wise-hearted
And with the Holy Spirit filled.
We meditate upon his name,
For “In the Shade of God” it is;
How sweetly we may also claim
The shade of God, since we are His!
Yet as we claim our Savior’s shade,
We also claim our stewardship.
His gifts of grace should be displayed
And used as He will thus equip.
As stewards of God’s wondrous grace,
We ought to seek to comprehend
His purpose for us in this place
And know the gift we should extend.
The grace of God is manifold
To meet the needs of all His own.
Our gift we should not idly hold;
The grace He gives should make Him
known.
Like Be-za-le-el we are called
To labor for the Lord with love.
The work of God should not be stalled;
We serve the King of kings above!
O Lord, we know You cannot fail
To build Your Church, as You have said;
The gates of hell shall not prevail
As in Your shadow we are led.
