“Blessed
is the man whose strength is in Thee… Who passing through the valley of Baca (weeping) make it a well;
the rain also filleth the pools. They go
from strength to strength… For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good
thing will He withhold from
them that walk uprightly” (Psalm 84:5-11).
“And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of
the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all” (Acts 4:33).
There
is a river of God’s strength
Refreshing
those who seek His face,
To
give longsuffering greater length,
Renewing
joy to run the race.
His
strength is like refreshing streams,
Like
rains that fill an empty well,
Like
answered prayers fulfilling dreams,
And
manna from above that fell.
The
Lord God is a Sun and Shield:
His
grace and glory He will give
To
those who meekly to Him yield
And
those who will uprightly live.
As
streaming sunlight sends its rays
With
light to energize our land,
The
Lord will hear the heart that prays
And
send the needed strength to stand.
When
Peter stood before His foes
And
boldly spoke in Jesus name,
The
strength of God within him rose
To
preach the Gospel without shame.
The
Lord had sent His strength that hour
To
those who on the Lord would call
To
preach the Gospel with His power,
And
great grace was upon them all.
O
Lord, revive our hearts anew
With
strength that’s streaming like the sun
That
we may boldly speak for You
Until
our work on earth is done.
