“So
are the paths of all that forget God… the hypocrite's hope shall perish: whose
hope shall be cut off, and whose trust shall be a spider's web. He shall
lean upon his house, but it shall not stand: he shall hold it fast, but it
shall not endure” (Job 8:13-15).
There
is a tendency today
To
think that by forgetting God
That
He will somehow go away:
So
are the paths that fools have trod.
Still
many choose to walk that path,
Content
with their hypocrisy.
It
is the way that ends in wrath
And
hopelessness eternally.
Though
men may hope until they die
For
something they may greatly cherish,
Hypocrisy
is still a lie,
And
in the end their hope shall perish!
Like
spider’s webs that fill the hand,
Hypocrisy
shall not prevail,
For
vain excuses shall not stand
And
every hope but Christ shall fail.
There
is no need to trust in lies
And
then to face their consequence!
There’s
no excuse to be unwise
And
to ignore God’s evidence.
Without
You, Lord, we cannot win:
There
is no other Hiding Place.
Your
light has now exposed our sin,
Yet
in that light we see Your
grace!
Lord,
thank You for the invitation
To
cast hypocrisy aside
That
You may clothe us with salvation,
Presented
faultless as Your bride!
