Siding with the Savior

"Who is on the Lord's side?" (Exodus 32:26). "A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on and are punished.... That thy trust may be in the LORD, I have made known to thee this day, even to thee" (Proverbs 22:3,19). "And thou shalt call His name Jesus, for He shall save His people from their sins.... and they shall call His name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is God with us" (Matthew 1:21,22).

Who is on the Savior's side?
We each make our decision.
Who will in the Savior hide?
There is a clear division.

The prudent one will choose the path
Of safety found in Christ,
And thereby flees from holy wrath
That must be exercised.

The fool will choose another way;
It matters not which one,
For every other path will stray
Away from God the Son.

There is no other Hiding Place
From sin and condemnation
Except in the amazing grace
Of Christ in His salvation.

How marvelous indeed it is
That He who made the stars
Would stoop to save and call us His,
And His salvation ours!

Our God with us, Emmanuel,
Extends to us His favor
In Jesus Christ, who saves from hell
Those trusting Him as Savior.

O Lord, we thank You for the choice
That You in mercy gave:
To side with You as we rejoice
That You forever save!
