"And Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, made all that the LORD commanded Moses" (Exodus 38:22). "Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock" (Matthew 7:24,25).
There is a simple, prudent beauty
In all Be-zá-le-el had made:
The Lord's commandment was his duty;
And confidently, he obeyed.
Be-zá-le-el means "In God's shade";
How rightly named this servant is,
In view of his foundation laid
To make the glory God's, not his.
Be-zá-le-el displayed his skill
With all the wisdom God imparted,
And joyfully performed God's will
With all who likewise were wise hearted.
The tabernacle had its place;
Be-zá-le-el redeemed the time,
Yet in this period of grace,
There is a building more sublime.
We know our Savior shall not fail
To keep His promise that He'll build
His Church at last which shall prevail
When all the hosts of hell are stilled.
O Lord, we are Your temple now,
Yet we would, as Be-zá-le-el,
With all the wisdom You endow,
Be diligent to serve You well.
