Down and Done

"He shall COME DOWN like rain upon the mown grass: as the showers that water the earth" (Psalm 72:6). "And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, COMING DOWN from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be is people.... And He that sat upon the throne said.... It is DONE. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely" (Revelation 21:2-6).

The Lord came down to us as rain
Upon this thirsty earth;
He bore our sorrows and our pain,
That we might have new birth.

His work on earth was thus begun,
That He might dwell with men.
When He declares that "It is done!"
He shall come down again.

Though many do not comprehend
The truth they're mocking still,
His promises shall have an end
Which He shall soon fulfill.

Until the day when Christ comes back,
We hear His invitation
To come and drink (there is no lack!)
The waters of salvation.

O Lord, we see that coming day,
That bright eternal dawn,
When You shall wipe all tears away,
And sorrows shall be gone.

Until that day, Lord, help us first
Show others what is true,
So every soul that is athirst
May thus be drawn to You.
