"So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom... And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us" (Psalm 90:12,17). "He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster" (Proverbs 18:9). "Seek ye the LORD while He may be found, call ye upon him while He is near" (Isaiah 55:6). "Walk circumspectly... Redeeming the time, because the days are evil" (Ephesians 5:15,16).
There is a number of our days:
We wake each day to one day less.
O may we give to God our praise
Each day we live with thankfulness.
Our days on earth should have a goal
Beyond a weary sense of duty:
Let Christ, the Savior of our soul,
Reflect in us His wondrous beauty!
How costly is a day that's wasted
Which nevermore shall reappear.
May our obedience be hasted,
While opportunity draws near.
O Lord, our days on earth are few;
Eternal destinies are long!
May each day be redeemed for You
And orchestrated as Your song.
