David's Destiny

"He chose David also His servant, and took him from the sheepfolds... to feed... His inheritance.  So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and guided them by the skillfulness of his hands" (Psalm 78:70-72).  "My grace is sufficient for thee" (2 Corinthians 12:9). 

Consider David's destiny

To feed the Lord's inheritance,

For thereby we may also see

God's working in our circumstance. 

He took him from the folds of sheep

Where many lessons had been learned. 

The principles He taught were deep

As David's heart for God had yearned. 

It was by grace that David fed

God's people as the Lord had planned,

For with integrity he led

And guided with a skillful hand. 

Since David's destiny, O Lord,

Was found as he had sought Your face,

We seek by faith that same reward:

A life that's lived for You by grace.
