The
one who sows in righteousness
Is
guaranteed a sure reward.
The
one who lives for something less
Will
miss the blessing of the Lord.
The
work that saves our souls is done;
The
work that builds the church is not,
For
precious souls may still be won
Which
to the Savior may be brought.
Our
Lord had surely made this clear
To
those He taught along the way:
The
onset of the night draws near;
The
time to work is in the day.
How
soon is nightfall's curtain drawn
As
strength and daylight thus decrease!
The
time for working shall be gone;
Our
labor on this earth shall cease.
Before
the day comes to a close,
Lord,
help us manifest Your grace,
Declaring
that You died and rose
To
give to us a Hiding Place.
Lord,
keep us laboring for You
That
we may thus advance Your cause
To
show the lost Your love so true
And
win the souls Your Spirit draws.
Lord,
use our fleeting days of youth,
Our
middle age, and latter years
For
wisely working with Your truth
Proclaimed
to every ear that hears.
